Iyengar Yoga Healthy Back

What is Iyengar Yoga?

The main principle of Iyengar yoga according to B.K.S. Iyengar is alignment of the body in asana.

Correct alignment:

a

minimizes the risk of injury,

a

enables deeper and safer stretching and strengthening,

a

develops stability, balance, and control of movement,

a

promotes conscious awareness of the body and the connection between the body and breath.

This lesson is specially designed to promote the health of the spine and large joints.

Iyengar yoga emphasizes precise alignment of the body in yoga poses. It emphasizes the safe and effective use of props, which allows even people with back pain or limited mobility to exercise gently.

During the lesson, we will focus on:

a

Relieving tension in the back, neck, and shoulders.

a

Strengthening the deep muscles of the spine and abdominal stabilization system.

a

Improved posture and balance, which helps prevent back pain.

a

Breathing and relaxation techniques that promote regeneration and reduce stress.

Iyengar yoga for a healthy back is suitable for anyone who wants to prevent pain, release tension, and improve their overall mobility and well-being.

The lessons are conducted at a slow pace, in small groups, often using suspension ropes – Yoga Kurunta, rehabilitation aids such as rollers and balls to release fascia and muscles.
This lesson is led by a physiotherapist.
