FELDENKRAIS METHOD
The Feldenkrais Method is a movement and educational approach that helps improve physical mobility, posture, coordination, and body awareness. It focuses on gentle, slow, and conscious movements that allow you to release tension, prevent pain, and learn more efficient ways of moving. It uses movement as a means of learning and functional awareness of oneself in relation to the surrounding environment.
The method was developed by Moshe Feldenkrais (1904–1984), an Israeli engineer, physicist, and judoka who combined knowledge of biomechanics, neuroscience, and Eastern martial arts. His goal was to show that the human brain and body can learn new movement patterns at any age, promoting greater freedom of movement and overall well-being.
The Feldenkrais Method is practiced today in two forms: group lessons (Awareness Through Movement) and individual lessons (Functional Integration), which are tailored to the needs of each individual.
